Inspired by the success of Rega’s Apheta and Aphelion MC models, the Ania features the same intricate hand-wound micro coil found throughout the range, housed within a uniquely designed PPS body known for its exceptional rigidity. This design incorporates Rega’s signature three-point fixing system to optimize connection with the tonearm headshell and automatically set the overhang when fitted to a Rega tonearm. The cartridge is protected by a CAD-engineered clear rigid cover that safeguards the delicate internal wiring, ensuring safe and easy handling during installation. Equipped with a super high-powered neodymium magnet and a coil carefully wound onto an iron micro cross, the Ania’s compact assembly allows superior groove tracking for enhanced detail retrieval. Rega’s moving coil design is distinguished by its ultra-low mass, undamped generator utilizing an exclusive rhomboid pivot for the cantilever and a bespoke neodymium magnet system. Achieving the precise zero-tolerance engineering required for the cartridge body—machined from a single piece of premium aluminum—is a complex process that reflects Rega’s decades of expertise, critical for perfect pivot pad alignment and magnet mechanism integration.
