Description
The Alligator Gar is a prehistoric-looking freshwater fish known for its armored scales and broad, alligator-like snout. Measuring 3.5–4.5 inches, this juvenile makes a striking addition for advanced aquarists.
- Appearance: Streamlined body with diamond-shaped scales, olive to gray tones, and lighter underside.
- Behavior: Generally solitary and slow-moving when young but becomes more active and predatory as it matures.
