The Ikeda IT-407SS represents a precision engineering approach to tonearm design, leveraging stainless steel’s superior rigidity and damping characteristics to minimize resonance. This 12-inch arm combines a stainless steel outer structure with strategically selected internal materials—brass and precision bearings at rotation points, aluminum and brass within the pipe assembly—to optimize mechanical performance. Contact surfaces receive bright rhodium plating, while hybrid 6N and 4N copper wiring ensures signal integrity. The result is exceptional stability across the frequency spectrum, with particular strength in low-frequency reproduction and tonal clarity. The included IT-VTA-06 base enables precise vertical tracking angle adjustment during playback, allowing fine-tuning of stylus geometry for optimal cartridge performance and record contact.
